Antoni Tapies

Born in an open, cultural environment, Tapies had the opportunity to learn a great deal about the history of philosophy, the world of music and works by great authors.Years later, his interest would turn to oriental thought and to existential and Marxist philosophies. In 1945, he began to dedicate himself more and more intensely to painting, and worked from the very beginning with considerably large materials.
