Mr. Armstrong is too chic to be a hoarder, but he could easily cross the line. Since 2000, he has lived in a four-story Bedford-Stuyvesant row house; imagine what might happen if Miss Havisham became a punk and moved to Brooklyn. It’s the setting for many of his shoots, and not just because it’s an impressive backdrop rich in props and wardrobe. He is a proud shut-in.
