Gerhard Merz’s goal is to find and attain that which can be "objectified." He believes in an art that is timeless and eternal. The roots of his work stem fromformalism and the phenomenological pursuit to reach the objectified. Modern art is his subject. He works with the concept he calls "archi-painting"
