Style and technique of the artist: Painting, Printmakers, Futurism,
Born in Innsbruck in 1894, in 1915 Iras Baldessari moved to Florence coming into contact with the Futurists and establishing important friendships with Filippo Tommaso Marinetti, Remo Chiti, Achilles League, Primo Conti , Dino Campana and Ottone Rosai. The nickname “Iras” (the end of his surname backwards) was adopted to distinguish homonymous Luciano, which was continually exchanged. Iras Baldessari termed his style but also coming up to Umberto Boccioni to figuration, and in particular as a model work of Ottone Rosai and the element of “officer” found in works of this artist in the form of “cuts” or “lines of force” that break down the figures, objects and landscapes.
