The work of the swiss painter and draftsman Louis Soutter deals with mythological and religious subjects, with the world of the theatre and the parties, with nature and architecture. His very special psychographic art of drawing grew up during his stay in a hospital for mental diseases and reached its climax in his fingerpaintings, which had a deep influence on artists such as Jean Dubuffet, Arnulf Rainer and A.R. Penck.
Saloons américains du tragique New York
