Silvia Malagrino is an award-winning photographer and filmmaker. The recipient of a John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation Fellowship and a Fellowship by the Ellen Stone Belic Institute for the Study of Women & Gender in the Arts & Media, Columbia College Chicago. Her innovative interdisciplinary work in multiple media – including photography, installation, and digital video,- amalgamates critical thinking with poetry, and metaphor with documentation.

I am a photographer and a film-maker. In my earlier work, I created installations where I juxtaposed groupings of photographs, large murals and written texts that were independent of each other but were designed to call forth a series of correspondences between history and memory, human action and accountability.
